Here at Tumblweed Memories, we are in mourning.
Genius/Hack film director Jess Franco has passed away, no I don't suppose you have heard of him, but Jess, the director of hundreds of movies, had a style of his own, perfectly evidenced by films like The Awful Dr. Orloff, Love Letters of A Portuguese Nun, and Justine. He also directed shit like Bloody Moon and Killer Barbys. Jess had an obvious passion for cinema and despite his gloriously hit and miss catalogue had a legion of fans.
As a blog that has seemingly carved it's own path these last years we embrace the ethos of Jess' oeuvre, he never stopped working and his films have an identity that is 100% Franco, just how many directors today can say that.
R.I.P Jess Franco..... You WILL be missed.
