Watching TV

I could lean out of this bed

Flick the switch on my remote 

and watch TV.

Or I could lay here

Perfectly still 

and watch you sleep.

I could get up off this bed

Slip my slippers on 

Go downstairs

Or else lie here

Perfectly still

And watch you breathe.

I could leap out of this bed

Bound downstairs

And watch the door slam

Or else lie here...

I'd rather watch TV

Than watch you leave.
