I Remember When Our Songs Were Like Cigars

II remember when we moved to shifts
In the tectonic plates of society
I remember when we cried.
We only ever loved the underdogs
And we are underdogs still
Smoking embers stoked by memories
And the coals burn happily from Earth to Mars.
I remember when our songs were like cigars.
