Devil On My Shoulder

From now on I think
I'll look within myself
Pour the kettle,
And not pour scorn

On the bastards
Who try to to sink us
They're not welcome
In my home

Where me and my kin
Find hope within
And laugh at things
Like little wins

And you lose, boy.
Breaking my home
While you treat
Trust like a toy

My baby son rattles
Where we laugh
That in no time he'll be
Right in the wars

You start for money
In a world where lives
are commodities
Like Indian tea

Pours from the kettle
Now I'm older
Forgive me if I fail to ignore
The devil on my shoulder.
