Looking Down The Line

I've spent way too many of these days
Trying to spy around corners
Hoping to find that happy ending
Thinking I'm going about the right way

Now I know what they say about corners
The many situations that lie past that bend
Just so terribly tired of the cliches
Spoken out loud by so many past and present friends

So for the sake of storytelling and friendship
And the corner straining pain in my neck
I'm giving up peeking to the future
And will see what I'm missing around me instead.
