Shotgun Remedy

You gave me a gun, put it right in my hand
You told me to squeeze the trigger
You laughed as I followed the rules set so out
You laughed as the gun was filled with nothing but sand.

You gave me a shotgun, threw it straight in my arms
You told me to take aim and put an end to my days
You laughed as I raised it the weakest of fools
You laughed as you closed your eyes and awaited my harm

I saw the eyes closing past the barrel in my way
I turned the gun around so my way was now safe.
I thought for a moment with honesty and grace
Then I smiled for a second and blew away your face
