I waltzed along the river past you, the oxbow of life.
The swallows not Amazons all laughed as they travelled too far.
And you with your boundaries formed over time with turns
Couldn't see past the edge of the grass.
I once thought like you with ripples
I once saw no further than trees
I now see the end of no boundaries
As I drift on a beautiful sea.
I long to walk in the forest and hear of the things the Owls say
I know that I can and I could
And when I see you through the trees with their leaves on
I know that I will and you would
These treetops that see past forever, where you can only dream
And I can only climb on on a limb
And hope that I see what I seem
