Deciduous Conifer

This land once heralded the beauty of spring with a crowning that sprung
When the earth was turning and the time had come
It once threw away what it no longer wanted, to the floor was where it was flung
There it rotted and faded until what once was, was gone,
With colours turning seasons from green to brown all brittle and harsh
From hilltop to meadow, forest and marsh.
For time of year all we needed to do was stare up at you so tall
Now they sit there with your Scot's Pine and you ruin it all
