Christmas Past

You couldn't be the one who laughed
As the snow came down
That day we went looking for Christmas trees
Who hurled that snowball at me.
You couldn't be the one who fell down laughing,
As I took revenge
With ice down your back
And wet mittens on my face
Regressing me.

And yet you are the girl,
Skating on like all of them
And leaving me for someone
And leaving me for no-one.
